Join the Eastridge family in remembering Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection this Holy Week.

Welcome to Holy Week!

Each day we will provide videos and reflection questions to help you and your family prepare to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection on Easter Sunday.

STEP 1: Watch the video

STEP 2: Discuss the questions below

  • Questions:

    • What are some ways Jesus has fulfilled your expectations? Has He provided for your family?

    • What are some ways He has “disappointed” you? Have there been some prayers He hasn’t answered the way you wanted Him to?

    • When He hasn’t met your expectations, what has your response been? Anger? Sadness? Faithfulness?

Jesus’ plan wasn’t to save people from Roman oppression, but from sin. He died to give people true, eternal life. His plan was greater, and His plan is the same for us today. He didn’t die so that we could have safety, security, or comfort. He died to save us from sin, so that we can have true, eternal life with Him.

  • Parent can say: This week, we will be learning new things as a family about Holy Week!

Holy Week is all about the last week of Jesus’ life, His death, and His resurrection on Easter Sunday! The first day of Holy week is called Palm Sunday. That’s today!

In John 12:12-19, many Jewish people were in Jerusalem celebrating Passover. When they heard that Jesus was coming, the people collected Palm branches and waved them in the air while shouting, “Hosanna!” Hosanna means, “Save Us.” We know that Jesus was the King of Kings but entered Jerusalem on a donkey. How odd! This showed the people that Jesus was the Messiah, King of Israel! Let’s watch the video together and learn more about Palm Sunday, and Jesus’ Triumphal Entry.

    Questions:

    • If you were a king, how would you enter a city? (limousine, Tesla, answers may vary)

    • What does Jesus save believers from? (sin)
