Welcome to Holy Week!

Each day we will provide videos and reflection questions to help you and your family prepare to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection on Easter Sunday.

STEP 1: Watch the video

STEP 2: Discuss the questions below

  • Questions:

    • Has anyone ever made a promise to you that seemed too good to be true?

    • Why do we take communion? What does it symbolize?

Jesus’ death established a new covenant (a new promise) - that His one sacrifice would be enough to cover our sins forever.

  • Parent can say: The fifth day of Holy Week is called “Maundy Thursday.” On Maundy Thursday, we remember and celebrate Jesus’ final meal called the Last Supper. He shared this special meal with his disciples. Jesus wanted to prepare them for what was going to happen in the days that followed. This would be the last time Jesus was with all his disciples before his crucifixion.

On this evening, many things happened. Jesus celebrated Passover with his disciples. He washed their feet, and gave them a new commandment. He told his disciples that they would be known as his followers by the way they loved one another. Jesus and his disciples ate the special meal with bread and wine. Let’s watch our video together and learn what the bread and wine symbolized.
