Join the Eastridge family in remembering Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection this Holy Week.

Welcome to Holy Week!

Each day we will provide videos and reflection questions to help you and your family prepare to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection on Easter Sunday.

STEP 1: Watch the video

STEP 2: Discuss the questions below

  • Questions:

    • What are some ways you show love to others? Giving gifts? Serving? Spending time with them? Speaking kind words?

    • What are some ways you feel most loved?

    • What are some ways you can do better at “proving” you love God with your actions?

  • Parent can say: The third day of Holy Week is called “Holy Tuesday.” On Holy Tuesday, we are reminded that Jesus and His disciples returned to the Temple and taught the people many things with parables. Jesus used parables, or simple stories, to teach the people truths about God and His kingdom.

Jesus gave the people a new commandment to love God with all their heart, soul, and mind. He also commanded them to love their neighbor as themselves. A fun way to remember this commandment is to practice it while moving and dancing. Let’s practice it together by watching this video and learning a new song!

    Watch: The Greatest Commandment

    Questions:

    • What are some ways we show God we love Him? (reading the Bible, praying, spending time with Him, etc)

    • What are some ways we can show our neighbors we love them? (making them a card, being respectful and polite, helping them, etc)

    • Do these acts of love earn us salvation? (No, salvation is only found by accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior)

Action Step: Make a plan to express love to God and others this week. Consider making special cards for your neighbors inviting them to attend church with you on Easter Sunday!
