Join the Eastridge family in remembering Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection this Holy Week.

Welcome to Holy Week!

Each day we will provide videos and reflection questions to help you and your family prepare to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection on Easter Sunday.

STEP 1: Watch the video

STEP 2: Discuss the questions below

  • Questions:

    • What do you think it was like for the disciples on the Saturday Jesus was dead?

    • Have you ever felt like Jesus just “isn’t there”?

Consider turning off your mobile devices or set aside a time of silence as you prepare to celebrate the resurrection tomorrow.

It’s Saturday… But Sunday is coming!

  • Parent can say: The last day of Holy Week is called “Holy Saturday.” On Holy Saturday, we remember that Jesus died on a cross and his body was placed in a tomb. Holy Saturday is a quiet day. Jesus’ disciples were sad, confused, and afraid. “How would Jesus save them now,” they thought?

We learned on Monday that Jesus cleansed the temple. Jesus said, “Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up.” The Jewish leaders thought Jesus was speaking about the temple but he was speaking about the temple of his body.

By this time tomorrow, we will be celebrating Jesus’ resurrection from the dead. But for today, the world waits. It’s quiet, patiently waiting for a conclusion to God’s rescue plan! Let’s watch today’s video and be reminded that God was at work, even in the quiet.
