HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED
What’s really true? Why am I here? What’s the point of the universe? My purpose?
In this series, we’re going to find the answers to those questions in Christ. When we discover the answers, we’ll learn how to live out these truths with Christ in us.

READING PLAN
We’re all busy. It’s hard to slow down and simply think, read, or pray.
This reading plan is designed to help you reflect on Colossians, and listen to what God is saying through the Word.
Take a moment to pray and read each week.
-
Read Colossians 1:1-14
Memorize: Commit Colossians 1:13–14 to memory this week.
Write it on a notecard or create a background for your phone with the verse. Recite it to yourself to remind you of what God has done for you.
Discussion questions:
What does it mean to you that Christ lives in you? What did Paul mean when he wrote this?
Why is it so hard to believe or remember that Christ is all we need?
-
Read Colossians 1:15-23
Pray: Ask God to reveal the areas of your life that need to submit to Jesus’s authority. Pray that the Spirit would guide you in surrendering those things to Jesus.
Review Last week’s memory verses
Discussion questions:
(The following questions are borrowed from Louie Giglio’s Colossians study)
Why do you think it matters that all things were made by and for Jesus?
What specific things does Jesus have authority over in your life? (Some answers include: your job, family, boss, salary, friendships, president/representative, spouse, habits, natural disasters, etc.)
What areas of your life are difficult for you to view as under Jesus’s authority? Why?
What do you think it looks like to live in such a way that reflects Jesus’s authority over all things?
What’s been the biggest difference in your life experience between knowing Jesus and not knowing Him?
-
Read Colossians 2:1-23
Memorize Colossians 2:6–7 this week. Write it down and place it somewhere you’ll see it throughout your day.
Give Thanks: Verse 7 of this passage talks about overflowing with gratitude. Write down one thing you’re thankful for every day this week and praise God for how He’s moved in your life.
Review Colossians 1:13-14
Discussion questions:
How much do you actually read your Bible?
Do you quickly turn to Christian speakers, books, or podcasts for your spirituality?
Do you study and turn to modern sciences and philosophies more than you do Christ?
In Jesus, the fullness of God lives in bodily form… Christian authors and secular thinkers can be helpful, but remember to go to the Source of all truth and knowledge.
-
Read Colossians 3:1-17
Review Memory verses
Reflect: Every time you get dressed or change clothes this week, reflect on what it means to take off the old self and put on the new self. Pray God would continue to remind you that you have been made new in Christ.
Discussion questions:
We say the gospel is good news but how does that good news affect our daily lives?
How can we make this good news practical?
How does being saved change your outlook in life? Everyday outlook?
How does a higher Position change the way you think?
How does a higher Priority change the way you act?
How does a higher Perspective change the way you deal with struggles?
-
Read Colossians 3:18-4:1
Memorize: Memorize Colossians 3:23–24 this week. Use it to remind yourself that you work for the Lord throughout the day.
Review Memory verses

Read Colossians 4:2-18
Pray: Pray that God would build you up in faithfulness this week. Ask Him for opportunities to obey Him by praying for other Christians, being a witness to nonbelievers, and comforting others.
Discussion questions:
What opportunities do you see in your prayer life?
In what ways could you be wiser in the way that you live so that you can live on mission?
What may need to be removed from your life, in order for you to be more faithful, devoted, and thankful in prayer?
